Steel Joists & Joist Girders

The open-web design of steel joists and joist girders introduce a range of cost and performance  advantages: reducing project weight; allowing for seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and  plumbing (MEP) systems; and making erection easier and faster. Individually and combined, those benefits  save time and money.

HexaSteel USA manufactures a complete range of efficient, cost-effective steel joists that can add value, strength, and style to your structure.

With a wide range of joist options that can be custom fabricated to  specification, Hexa Steel USA has the right product to help architects and engineers bring their unique  vision to life.

Standard steel joists and joist girders are crucial, tried-and-true components of your roofing and  flooring building system. Our joists and girders are engineered and manufactured in accordance with  the specifications of the Steel Joist Institute.

Joist girders serve as primary framing members with simple spans to support concentrated loads for a  roof or floor system. These concentrated loads often include standard steel joists that are in turn  supporting steel roof or floor deck.

K Series

K-Series joists are efficient elements in a steel structure (roof & floor). Their open-web configuration gives  you space to conceal pipes, electrical, and plumbing, which can reduce height, adding value to your project.  They possess an exceptionally high strength-to-weight ratio in comparison with other building materials.

K-Series Joists are standardized regarding depths, spans and load-carrying capabilities. There are 63 separate  designations, representing joist depths from 10 inches through 30 inches in 2 inch increments and spans  through 60 feet. Standard K-Series Joists have a 2 ½ inches end bearing depth so that, regardless of the  overall joist depths, the tops of the joists lie in the same plane.

LH Series

LH-Series joists are designed to support larger loads and are typically used where longer spans  and special profiles (such as gable joists and arched joists) are needed in varying conditions.

DLH Series

DLH-Series joists, also known as Deep Long-span joists, are used for longer span conditions that  need to support larger loads. They vary in depths from 52” through 120” and spans up through  240’ and allow for special profiles to accommodate a variety of conditions.

Joist Girders

Joist Girders function as a primary framing member, supporting equally-spaced concentrated loads from open web steel joists. Joist girders, along with steel joists in general, are highly – efficient structural members due to their truss-like configuration.
